Business Development Executive – Main Duties: All Campaigns:

The Business Development Executive will work as part of a dynamic team, responsible for increasing delegate sales across our conference portfolios by generating leads, communicating with conference delegates, and closing their participation in various annual conference campaigns.

The Executive will build their own network of conference delegates from various sectors depending on the campaign. You are expected to meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets while collaborating within a Business Development environment.

Role:

This entrepreneurial position requires the ability to think creatively, develop and execute sales strategies, work diligently, and focus on creating valuable products for our sectors.

The Executive must be innovative, organized, informed about our campaigns, possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and ambitious.

They will report directly to the Business Development Executive and collaborate with departments such as marketing, production, customer service, operations, and the database team.

Key Accountabilities / Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achieve sales revenue targets within set timelines
  • Make effective calls or client meetings weekly
  • Report sales activities accurately and promptly

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Sell delegate packages to new and existing clients to meet revenue targets
  • Exceed sales targets and generate new revenue streams from diverse clients
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and understand market and client bases thoroughly
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify issues and opportunities
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for colleagues

Job outline:

  • Sell delegate packages via telephone
  • Seek new customers/delegates from relevant sources
  • Research and conduct sales campaigns to attract delegates
  • Work with other teams to maximize sales
  • Attend sector-specific events for networking and business development
  • Build relationships with new accounts and explore untapped sectors
  • Support on-site event operations as part of the team

Reporting:

  • Provide weekly activity and forecast reports to the Event Director
  • Update CRM with sales activities and calls
  • Report sales progress weekly, monthly, and quarterly
  • Share market intelligence with the marketing team
  • Monitor market trends and gather customer feedback
  • Coordinate effectively with internal departments to enhance client experience
