Job description

Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, the Business Development Director, Africa (Country Sales Manager), will contribute to achieving Biocair's sales revenue and gross profit targets by building new revenue streams, developing new customers, and expanding our existing customer base through selling our services to the Life Science industry.

The role has overall responsibility for managing the Sales team, utilizing their expertise effectively, and developing the customer portfolio while providing daily management and leadership.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Working with the EMEA Sales Director to define and implement the sales plan.
  2. Establishing processes for sustained growth and profitability.
  3. Coaching and developing the sales team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  4. Collaborating across departments to ensure effective outcomes and fostering a 'One Biocair' approach.
  5. Managing your sales portfolio according to targets set with the EMEA Sales Director.
  6. Forecasting sales accurately and adapting plans to market shifts.
  7. Representing the company at industry events and maintaining a thought-leader position.
  8. Building high-level relationships with key clients' decision-makers.
  9. Driving value-based selling to improve retention and profitability.
  10. Preparing proposals, responding to tenders, and negotiating contracts.
  11. Reporting sales activity and analyzing data using Salesforce.
  12. Communicating market needs to improve service offerings.

The successful candidate will operate in line with our company values, aiming to be the provider of choice for scientific logistics solutions, emphasizing care, expertise, and precision to support research and development.

Key competencies include:
  • Proven success in developing new business within logistics, healthcare, or cold chain environments.
  • Experience in a senior sales role within an international company, managing both customer relationships and teams.
  • Strong negotiation, regulatory, and contract management skills.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM and Office tools.
  • Experience in managing diverse sales teams is desirable.

We offer:

  • Salary up to 1,200,000 ZAR per annum depending on experience.
  • Commission scheme, pension, life insurance, medical aid, 20 days holiday, wellness program.

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:30), based onsite and field-based from any of our South African offices in Johannesburg, Durban, or Cape Town.
