The Role: External Sales Representative
This is a full-time, field-based sales position designed for a proactive, solutions-driven individual ready to grow our clients' market presence in Gauteng. Reporting remotely, you'll play a vital role in promoting products, building relationships with construction professionals, and ensuring seamless coordination between sales, logistics, and product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with site managers, developers, architects, and designers
- Conduct regular site visits and provide product support and solutions
- Promote products in retail stores, ensure adequate stock levels, and implement promotions
- Manage sales administration, update CRM/ERP systems, and maintain territory records
- Resolve on-site client issues and manage product deliveries with yard/logistics teams
- Stay current on product lines and the broader construction industry
- Drive new business while managing existing accounts in the Pretoria and Centurion region
- Execute in-store and on-site promotions to grow brand visibility
- Handle stock reconciliation and ensure a smooth sales-to-delivery workflow
About You
- 2+ years of sales experience in the construction or building materials industry
- High school diploma required; tertiary certificate advantageous
- Based in Pretoria or Centurion
- Valid South African driver's license
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Energetic, self-driven, and capable of working independently
- Comfortable multitasking between fieldwork, sales admin, and client service
- Basic computer literacy and experience with ERP/CRM systems
- Willingness to learn and grow through structured training
