Are you experienced in new business, particularly Employee Benefits (Retirement Funding, Risk Benefits and/or Healthcare Consulting)? We're hiring!

Aon South Africa is recruiting a New Business Consultant in our Employee Benefits department based, on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton. The role of a Business Development consultant is to identify and close new business opportunities within Retirement Funding, Risk Benefits and/or Healthcare Consulting.

What the day will look like
  • Proactively look for new business opportunities outside of the greater Aon client base.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new business growth strategy
  • Network and promote the Group brand and build strong relationships within the EBS industry
  • Establish future clients’ needs and business drivers
  • Prepare for future client contact by carrying out client research to understand their business
  • Assist clients in develop a cost-effective benefits package aligned with organization n strategies and employee expectations.
  • Build a trusted relationship with future clients through questioning and influencing skills.
  • High level of technical knowledge (Employee Benefits in general) in order to be able to articulate solutions to clients
  • Manage pipeline effectively
  • Able to work in cross functional (matrix) teams
  • Excellent planning skills – can prioritise time to deal with a large portfolio of future clients
  • Provide guidance in provider and solution selection.
  • Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Interact, negotiate and navigate a variety of Unions and organised labour markets.
Skills and experience that will lead to success

Qualifications

  • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree is preferable
  • Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
  • Minimum NQF5 Wealth Management or equivalent
Knowledge
  • An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals.
  • Computer literacy with advanced know-how in MS Word and Excel.
Skills and Attributes
  • Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities
  • Ability to confidently articulate Aon’s value proposition and how it differentiates Aon and benefits future clients.
  • Well-developed negotiating and persuading skills
  • Have a bold new business attitude
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience
  • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar or related role in Employee Benefits
  • Have a solid sales background (proven track record)
