We are looking for a self-driven, charismatic, and results-oriented Renewable Energy Business Developer to join our growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Remote work (Johannesburg – Weekly in-office staff meeting required)
- Independently identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships across C&I, industrial, and infrastructure segments.
- Generate organic leads and drive SolarEPC’s growth pipeline without reliance on company-generated leads.
- Negotiate and close deals with a proven ability to convert leads into signed projects.
- Present and pitch SolarEPC solutions effectively to decision-makers.
- Research and evaluate new markets, funding models, and partnership opportunities.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, policy developments, and competitive landscapes.
- Contribute to strategic growth plans, including funding structures and investment opportunities.
- Work closely with the technical and operations teams to ensure accurate scoping, pricing, and proposal development.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders using Monday.com for project tracking and workflow management.
- Provide weekly pipeline updates, forecasts, and performance reports.
- Attend one in-person staff meeting per week to align with the broader SolarEPC team.
- Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales and business development experience with demonstrable, tangible results in closing high-value deals.
- Strong understanding of solar PV, funding mechanisms, PPA models, and energy project finance.
- Ability to work independently, self-manage, and deliver results without supervision.
- Competent and experienced in Monday.com and similar digital sales/project management platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to create and convert organic leads, leveraging networks, industry events, and personal initiative.
- Charisma, persuasive communication, negotiation skills, and relationship-building abilities.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Analytical thinking and financial acumen.
