Short Intro and About the Job
To assume financial responsibilities for Topline at Danone Southern Africa. The Topline Controller will be actively involved in steering financial growth and stability by maintaining accurate records of Net Sales & Topline Investment activities as well as forecasting for these activities. The Controller will also lead the function on corporate governance with regards to accrual/spend management & deal assessment.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Financial Management
- Support and challenge the business through a financial view (Controlling & Performance Improvement)
- Month-end closing for Revenue
- Work as part of the commercial management team to ensure delivery of financial targets and quick identification and resolution of financial issues and risks
- Monitor and manage revenue accounting systems, policies, and procedures, including budgeting, variance analysis, deal accuracy, internal controls, ERP system integrity
- Lead initiatives to improve Topline Financial Results, monitoring business performance and improvement plans
- Provide counsel to the Commercial Leadership Team on revenue controls and improvements
- Manage and execute special projects as assigned by the Head of Topline Controlling and/or Finance Director
Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Follow-up on revenue management
- Build revenue budgets and estimates
- Deliver revenue investment scenarios and monitor performance vs. budget
- Evaluate revenue spend and conduct post-evaluation assessments
- Support budgeting, reporting, and external/internal audits
Financial Analysis
- Ensure integrity of Revenue Financial reporting
- Analyze financial impacts of strategies across channels and product groups
- Support financial activities including reporting, forecasting, project evaluation, and investment control
- Assist in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
Integration
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to CBU and Group
- Drive corporate governance within revenue management
- Strengthen control environment and compliance activities
- Develop strong relationships with staff, peers, and senior management
Leadership and Management
- Lead, develop, and support the commercial team in financial reporting and governance
- Develop talent for future roles within CBU finance
About You
KEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Qualification(s):
- B Comm and minimum 5 years relevant FMCG experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in Commercial Finance
Experience and Skills:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- People management and expectation management abilities
- Ability to develop junior talent
- Proficiency in computer systems, especially SAP FI/CO/MM modules
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
