Job description

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and analyzing business activities and operating results from both a financial and operational perspective within a specific customer segment. The role involves identifying areas for improvement, implementing action plans aligned with business objectives, and focusing on cost containment and profitability enhancement. Driving continuous improvement is a key aspect of this role.

Key Requirements:
COST EFFECTIVENESS
  • Manage Net Working Capital effectively.
  • Analyze financial information to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and execute action plans.
  • Report on improvements resulting from these plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve Networking Capital.
EFFECTIVE CONTROL MEASURES
  • Ensure risks to Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology are mitigated through controls, monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Act as a business partner and advisor to the business line manager.
  • Perform profitability analyses before entering into new contracts or amendments to ensure targeted and profitable business opportunities, and to limit risks of marginal or unprofitable business.
  • Make strategic recommendations.
  • Be accountable for and measure performance on monthly balance sheet and P&L for the customer segment.
  • Produce timely and accurate management reports.
EFFECTIVE BUDGET MANAGEMENT
  • Control costs and investigate deviations from budgets.
  • Conduct variance analysis, identify issues, and develop solutions.
  • Implement remedial actions, such as adjusting headcount to meet business demands.
  • Handle budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Manage cross-functional projects (e.g., Accounts receivable, service exchange).
  • Engage with both the business and customers.
  • Analyze data and develop operational and financial solutions or action plans for implementation.
Your Profile:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • BCom Honours Degree in Finance or CIMA (ACMA status).
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in setting up internal control policies, managing inventory systems, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
