Position Overview

As the Business Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and analyzing business activities and operating results from both a financial and operational perspective within a specific customer segment. Your role includes identifying improvement areas, implementing action plans aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost containment and profitability enhancement, and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Effectiveness
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, execute, and report on action plans to improve performance and control costs.
  • Drive strategies to optimize Net Working Capital.
  • Effective Control Measures
    • Implement controls to mitigate risks.
    • Conduct profitability analyses and evaluate business cases for new contracts or amendments.
    • Provide recommendations to support business growth while minimizing risks.
  • Financial Reporting & Budget Management
    • Deliver accurate management reports on P&L and balance sheets for your customer segment.
    • Ensure budget adherence, analyze variances, and address issues proactively.
    • Align resources, such as headcount, with business needs.
  • Project Management
    • Support and lead business improvement initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
    • Ensure measurable results through effective project planning and execution.
    Minimum Requirements
    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • BCOM Honours Degree in Finance or CIMA (ACMA status).
    • 5+ years post-qualification experience managing internal control policies, inventory systems, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Advanced computer literacy.
