Sanlam Alternative Investments (SAI)
The purpose of the Sanlam Alternative Investments (SAI) business is to help build the African continent and make a real sustainable difference in the emerging economies in which we operate, aligning to the Sanlam Group’s mission of financial inclusion. The SAI business has a broad range of capabilities that include Private Equity, Specialised Finance, Property, Infrastructure and Partnerships. Sanlam is the biggest non-banking financial institution on the continent, operating in Africa for over 100 years.

What will you do?

1. Perform detailed analysis, documentation of processes, and map data.
2. Analyse As-Is "Week in the Life of" (WILO) processes, identify and propose solutions to close the gaps.
3. Develop Activity-level Business Process Maps and RACIs for both As-Is and To-Be states/processes.
4. Engage with various stakeholders to understand and elicit the business requirements.
5. Translate business requirements into appropriate detail and level for solution implementation.
6. Map As-Is Processes and WILO to User Stories, providing input for High-Level Design.
7. Craft a comprehensive strategy or case-for-change document for the project.
8. Define detailed requirements for system implementation based on the gap analysis.
9. Ensure thorough testing of implemented solutions and alignment to business strategy.
10. Be fully engaged in the Software Development Life Cycle, embracing both agile and hybrid methodologies.
11. Assess current system-based processes, identify opportunities for simplification.
12. Explore technology-enabled opportunities and the development of new processes.
13. Understand and document process compliance, identify trends and issues, and implement actions to enhance compliance.

What will make you successful in this role?

• Advanced Business Analysis certification is an advantage.
• Experience in process reengineering, mergers and acquisitions, digital transformations, etc.
• Exposure and understanding of Asset Management or Alternative Investments.
• Attention to detail.
• Organised, structured, proactive and must have a sense of urgency.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Must have integrity, easily collaborate with various areas in the business and offer innovative solutions.
• Positive attitude, professional, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Agile, adapt quickly to change.
• Well-versed in BABOK tools and techniques.

Qualification and Experience

Degree with 5 to 6 years related experience.
