A pioneering business-driven social-impact initiative led by the private sector partnered with Government seeks an acquisitions-focused, polished business development executive who has a proven track record in acquisitions / business development working with C-suite Executives who ideally (not necessarily) understands the ESD space and is motivated by high-reward and purpose-driven work, being part of a winning team!
Be directly involved in reshaping the country's unemployment landscape, working closely with C-Suite Executives at various corporates.
Core Responsibilities
- Business Development:
- Initiate, secure, develop and strengthen client relationships through a high-touch client management process.
- Present and package the 'value proposition' to drive businesses / corporates in their youth employment in high volumes, in a sustainable manner.
- In collaboration with the Business Development Stream Lead, develop growth and retention strategies to grow the bottom-line number and meet aggressive sales targets.
- Solicit business from Corporates who are not currently working with the organisation by scheduling appointments to meet with their Human Resources / Transformation Executives.
- Establish new client relationships with high-level, influential corporates, and strengthen existing client relationships to forge new opportunities.
- Under Business Development Stream Lead's guidance, manage the sales and service processes to ensure client satisfaction to increase revenue and develop lasting professional relationships that will fuel sales and lead to possible partners with organisations associated with these clients.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with all existing clients to ensure a strong renewal pipeline as the initiative renews annually.
- Work with the client in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and ensure that all planned services are delivered and administrated in terms of requirements.
- Develop pro-active initiatives that improve the client's business and efficiencies.
- Marketing and Networking:
- Organise events, from sector-specific to community events, that lead to client meetings and product promotions.
- Assist in selecting marketing materials and products to include in these events and attend shows and meetings to represent the organisation.
- Organise and attend sector-specific events and engagements to promote commercial packages with the aim of meeting new clients, building brand awareness and nurturing relationships.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Manage a portfolio of Corporates – new and existing, in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Conduct implementation analysis and sessions with clients (remotely and at client location) to facilitate solution configurations and interface set-up, particularly on the various models.
- Assess complex situations, seek collaborative solutions and prepare and present recommendations.
- Resolve client inquiries and maintain ownership throughout resolution.
- Maintain updated records on the CRM of client's information and the status of leads by tracking, measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of Client Relationship Processes.
- Using this information, report back and submit recommendations.
- Promotion of Company Products:
- Collaborate with the internal Marketing, Sales and Client Engagement teams to form strategies that target specific audiences and segments to grow brand awareness and sales.
- Attend client-facing meetings, collaborative planning workshops and report to client on progress to assist businesses / corporates to boost their own growth and sales.
- Develop and maintain a high level of product and business knowledge.
- When required, assist with the development of marketing materials, analyse business competition and maintain corporate contact lists.
- Market Research:
- Market analysis report compilation with a focus on consumer behaviour, sales and the share of their company's market in relation to their specific products.
- Generate plans on how to increase this market share and develop strategies that will lead to greater revenue, with guidance from Business Development Stream Lead.
- Utilise the CRM tool to derive, analyse, understand and apply data obtained.
- Explore new business opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is essential.
- An advanced degree (e.g. MS, MBA) is a bonus.
- A Sales-related qualification will be advantageous.
Other
- Must be prepared to travel Nationally and outside RSA as required.
- Own vehicle and driver's license.
- Knowledge of B-BBEE.
- Strong understanding of corporate procurement, ESD and / or social impact or grant funding.
Experience Required
- 5+ years' proven track record in a Business Development role (ideally B2B) working with Corporate Executives is a MUST!
- Ability to build relationships with C-suite executives and drive long-term partnerships across various sectors (e.g. tourism, manufacturing, retail and financial services).
- Proven track record of leveraging off opportunities in different economic climates to contribute to business continuity.
- Extensive reach with solid, identifiable networks in Corporate Businesses for client acquisition.
- Technological literacy with computer applications necessary to create, manage and analyse project timelines is a necessity.
- MS Office advanced skills added advantage.
- Experience with scheduling methodologies.
- Possess marketing and stakeholder engagement knowledge and skills.
- Experience in engaging at all levels within the organisation (added advantage).
- Knowledge of B-BBEE policy and legislation advantageous.
Remuneration Package
RK + guaranteed cost to company (value add and proven track record based) PLUS lucrative incentive income | commission on business acquired.
