Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Bellville seeks a Business Analyst to investigate business requirements and identify opportunities to improve processes and deliver new or enhanced system solutions.

The role requires a degree in IT or related field, at least 3 years BA experience, ERP knowledge, and the ability to lead JAD sessions and QA tests. CBAP certification is an advantage.

Qualifications

The main purpose of this position is to investigate business requirements to identify opportunities, to improve business processes and deliver new or enhanced system solutions that drive greater efficiency and business value.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• BTech/ Advanced Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Information Systems or relevant qualification.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Business Analysis role.
• Working knowledge of ERP system(s).
• Proven experience delivering initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Business Analysis certification will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Investigate and define business and system requirements.
• Analyze, model, optimize, and document end-to-end business processes to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate inefficiencies, and support digital transformation and service delivery excellence.
• Maintain business rules and adhere to audit requirements.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with business units, provide guidance to stakeholders and perform effective and efficient Joint Application Development facilitation with the relevant stakeholders including vendors.
• Coordinate business analysis activities across projects, ensuring deliverables are completed within agreed timelines, scope, budget, quality standards, and organizational governance requirements while proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Development of specification documents, test plans, test scripts and test procedures based on requirements.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) procedures; coordinate testing activities, analyze test outcomes, manage defect resolution, and ensure solutions meet agreed business requirements and quality standards.
• Test and analyze test results, recommending corrective action when required.
• Support and capacitate users on new and existing systems.
