About the job: Business Analyst

Key purpose:

As a Business Analyst, you'll analyze business requirements to identify needed functionalities and collaborate with other departments to develop software or systems. You will perform user acceptance testing of new features before release, conduct surveys on existing software to ensure it meets user needs. Experience with Excel or Access is preferred, especially in designing spreadsheets and databases. Experience in Agile environments is a plus but not essential.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships between business units and ICT (solution providers), seeking opportunities to improve collaboration.
  • Gather and analyze data to understand business strategies; contribute to planning sessions; provide guidance to ICT teams on business goals.
  • Assess stakeholder needs using structured requirements management; develop and communicate business requirements and specifications; analyze operations for improvements.
  • Ensure the GCOS system is globally accepted, competitive, and commercially attractive.
  • Document current processes; assist in redesign and documentation; recommend improvements for new technology.
  • Support business case development through research and data collection; contribute to feasibility studies.
  • Develop user test cases and validate test results to address business gaps.
  • Investigate issues, develop resolutions, and identify technical assistance needs.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of issues and resolutions.
  • Analyze performance metrics to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage client expectations, ensuring solutions meet stakeholder needs.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems.
  • At least 7 years of relevant technical and business experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of port operations or logistics is desirable.
  • Proficiency in BA principles; IIBA Certification is a plus.
