- Unitrans is seeking to employ Professional Bus Drivers with proven experience in our Hammersdale depot. Drives a bus to transport passengers on scheduled services over established routes. Controls lighting, heating and ventilation for the passengers. Observes prescribed speeds, traffic, travelling conditions and signals to ensure the safe arrival of passengers. Ensures passengers arrive at destinations on time. Holds the appropriate license and a PrDP.

- Must have a Public Services Driving License (PG), mastery of defensive and preventive driving techniques, ensuring the safety of both passengers and other road users. You must know and strictly obey traffic laws, avoiding infractions and accidents. Comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification: Grade 12, Job-specific training, and Driver's license categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the same or similar position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow WSWPs procedures involved in activities.
- Read, understand, and accept the code of conduct and Unitrans passenger rules and regulations.
- Read and understand the driver's manual.
- Report near misses, incidents, and property damage even if not involved.
- Understand and adhere to HST regulations and policies.
- Drive safely, avoiding involvement in incidents and accidents.
- Immediately report any incidents or related matters to management.
- Inspect the bus for deviations or malfunctions, record defects, and report to the supervisor.
- Participate in DSS sessions and training as required.
- Register passengers, ensure vehicle cleanliness and refueling.
- Keep accurate logs of activities and hours.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards customers.
- Follow routes and stops authorized by the company, respect signage and speed limits.
- Remove keys from ignition after parking, control vehicle keys responsibly.
- Use seat belts and ensure good use of vehicles.
- Report damages and follow collection times as specified.
- Drive responsibly, avoiding unauthorized route deviations and stops.
- Ensure vehicle safety procedures are followed, including wheel chocks and seat belts.
- Drive with valid license and RAC2 card.
- Report any vehicle damage and ensure the conservation of vehicles.
- Adhere to all operational and safety procedures outlined for bus drivers.
