Job description

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Building Manager to take the lead in managing The Yacht Club – an iconic mixed-use development strategically positioned at the gateway to Cape Town's V&A Waterfront.

This prestigious property blends luxury living with premium commercial space in one of the city's most sought-after locations.This is more than a maintenance role — it's about delivering a first-class experience to residents and tenants alike.

Step into a role where attention to detail, service excellence, and operational efficiency are key to your success.Key Responsibilities : Oversee the day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring it is clean, safe, and fully operational.Conduct routine inspections of the building, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance or repair needs.Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff and external contractors for repairs, renovations, and cleaning services.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules.Act as the primary point of contact for tenants regarding building issues, complaints, and requests.Ensure timely communication of maintenance schedules, building rules, and other relevant updates.Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.Implement and enforce safety protocols, including fire evacuation procedures and emergency response plans.Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained.Emergency Response : Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure appropriate action is taken.Requirements : Qualifications : Building management, facilities management qualifications advantageous.Experience and Knowledge : Proven experience in building or property management (sectional title experience advantageous).Strong understanding of sectional title regulations and property maintenance.Skills and Attributes : Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with tenants, staff, and service providers.Ability to assess and resolve issues quickly and effectively.Focused on tenant satisfaction and resolving concerns professionally.Capable of managing and motivating a team of staff or contractors.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.Attentive to details to ensure the building runs smoothly and efficientlyfortable handling unexpected challenges and adjusting plans as needed.Takes initiative to address potential issues before they escalate.Dependable and trustworthy, especially in responding to emergencies.Why Join Us?Be part of a dynamic environment managing a prestigious sectional title property.Opportunity to work closely with a professional and supportive teampetitive remuneration package.Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break.
