Our client, based in Port Elizabeth, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager, to be responsible for the organization’s fixed and movable property, facilities, and infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements :
- Relevant tertiary qualification would be highly beneficial.
- 7 - 10 Years’ hands-on experience in Building / Maintenance / Construction / Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing a team.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical problems related to maintenance and construction.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of building trades.
- Knowledgeable on property bylaws.
- Knowledgeable on Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to plan and monitor budgets.
- Computer Literate (MS Office).

Responsible for the planning, supervision, and management of all maintenance operations (property and infrastructure) and related activities.Lead maintenance procedures, property modernisations, projects, and security.Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify any potential issues that need to be resolved.Asset Management :Conduct assessments on assets to determined whether any need maintenance or replacement.
Ensure that all assets are stored appropriately.Ensure that all new assets received are added to the finance asset register and insured.Compile annual planned maintenance plan, including preventative maintenance.Compile and monitor the maintenance budget.Obtain quotations from suppliers and service providers, ensuring the most cost-effective solutions.Project Management.Liaise with and build and maintain strong relationships with service providers.Execute any special upgrades.Comply with all Health and Safety regulations at all times.Fleet Management – Report on vehicle condition, mileage and fuel consumption per vehicle. Ensure that the company vehicles are maintained and serviced.Oversee the Security of all sites, ensuring that all infrastructure and equipment are in good working order.Hands-on supervision and management of staff and service providers, including work allocation, training, and problem-solving.Provide reports, updates, and feedback to the Head of Property.Actively manage customer relationships.Please consider your application unsuccessful should you not receive a response within two weeks of applying.
