The BrokerConsultant is responsible for developing, managing, and growing relationshipswith allocated brokers to achieve profitable premium growth, increased marketpenetration, and strong retention outcomes. The role requires proactivebusiness development, broker engagement, portfolio management, producttraining, and effective execution of the company's distribution strategy whileadhering to internal governance, compliance standards, and service levelcommitments.
Responsibilities:
Broker RelationshipManagement
- Develop and maintainstrong professional relationships with allocated brokers.
- Conduct regular brokervisits and engagements in accordance with agreed contact strategies.
- Serve as the primary pointof contact between brokers and the business.
- Identify broker needs andopportunities to strengthen business partnerships.
- Ensure a high level ofbroker satisfaction through effective service and support.
Business Development &Growth
- Drive profitable premiumgrowth within the allocated broker portfolio.
- Identify, pursue, andsecure new business opportunities through existing and prospectivebrokers.
- Develop and executebroker-specific growth plans aligned with company objectives.
- Increase productpenetration across allocated broker accounts.
- Promote the company'svalue proposition, products, and solutions within the broker market.
- Monitor broker production,growth, retention, and profitability.
- Analyse portfolioperformance and implement corrective measures where required.
- Manage renewal retentionand support initiatives aimed at improving policy persistency.
- Ensure business writtenaligns with underwriting appetite and target market.
- Work closely withunderwriting teams to optimise growth opportunities while maintainingportfolio quality.
Broker Training & ProductSupport
- Conduct product, system,and sales training for brokers.
- Educate brokers on policywordings, product features, underwriting appetite, and competitiveadvantages.
- Assist brokers withtechnical product queries and business development opportunities.
- Ensure brokers remaininformed regarding product enhancements, process changes, and marketdevelopments.
Compliance, Quality &Governance
- Conduct all activities inaccordance with FAIS, TCF, POPIA, and company governance requirements.
- Ensure all brokerinteractions and business development activities are conducted ethicallyand professionally.
- Maintain accurate recordsof broker engagements, opportunities, and activities.
- Adhere to all reportingrequirements, internal processes, and departmental standards.
- Foster a positive andcollaborative working environment.
- Work closely withUnderwriting, Claims, Operations, and Distribution teams to support brokerneeds.
- Share market intelligence,competitive insights, and broker feedback with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in businessimprovement and strategic distribution initiatives.

- Own reliable androadworthy vehicle.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years'experience as a Broker Consultant within the short-term insuranceindustry.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years'experience in short-term insurance underwriting, preferably withinpersonal lines with an insurer, underwriting manager (UMA), orintermediary environment.

- NQF4 in Short-termInsurance or equivalent
- Experience inHigh-Net-Worth (HNW) Personal Lines insurance
- Strong knowledge ofshort-term insurance products, underwriting principles, and brokerdistribution channels.
