What will you do?

This role reports to the Business Manager. Your primary focus will be building a supporting portfolio of brokers to increase new business. The Broker Consultant acts as the interface between brokers and Sanlam, aiming to achieve business objectives in a dynamic, innovative, and high-performance environment. You will promote Sanlam products to brokers, focusing on building trusting relationships, supporting and up-skilling brokers with relevant information, tools, and technologies to enable their practice.

Qualification & Experience

  • Completed Business/Commerce/Marketing/Legal degree
  • Preferably a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, RFP3, or Wealth Management 3
  • Goal and target motivated
  • Sales and marketing orientation
  • Natural relationship-builder
  • At least three years of Broker Consultant experience, currently in a Broker/Business Consultant/Business Development Manager role in a Life Insurance or Linked Investment Service Provider company

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to build a portfolio of brokers
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, specifically life insurance
  • Marketing principles and sales skills to meet targets
  • Experience in third-party marketing
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory legislation and compliance
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
