Job summary

FirstRand is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Broker Consultant to grow our IFA network, deliver tailored solutions, and provide exceptional service to clients and IFAs across South Africa. The role focuses on meeting new business targets, conducting PST trainings, and distributing timely communications.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of employee benefits brokerage experience, a relevant degree, and strong IFA relationships.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years employee benefits broker consulting experience.
• Relevant degree required.
• Must have strong established relationships with Independent Financial Advisors specializing in employee benefits.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, able to manage demanding stakeholders and deliver solutions.

• Manage onboarding and accreditation of brokers.
• Prepare/distribute communications to IFAs about product updates and market trends.
• Attend industry events to network with potential clients.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet client needs.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Creates solutions to meet customer demands and deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with IFAs and key stakeholders to grow the network and increase business.
• Deliver exceptional service to IFAs and their clients, providing solutions and resolving any issues that arise.
• Achieve new business targets by promoting and selling our products and services to IFAs.
• Give product specific training (PST) to ensure that IFAs have a comprehensive understanding of our products and services.
• Manage the onboarding process and ensure brokers are accredited.
• Prepare and distribute communication to IFAs, keeping them informed about product updates, market trends, and industry news.
• Attend industry events and conferences to represent the company and network with potential clients.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all client needs are met.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability.
• Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own and employee development.

Ideal candidate

• 5 to 8 years Employee benefits broker consulting experience
• Relevant degree
• Must have good established relationships with a network of Independent Financial advisors specialising in employee benefits (like pension and group risk solutions)
• Analytical, attention to detail, managing demanding stakeholders, service and solutions oriented , able to build relationships internally and externally .
