Job summary

SAB Newlands Brewery is seeking a Document Technician to define, develop, and implement food safety and document management practices across the brewery. The role focuses on QA/QC, maintaining the Food Safety Management System, and driving quality improvement across packaging operations.

You will audit and train teams on HACCP, TACCP, VACCP and related standards, ensuring compliance and data integrity while working within a safety-conscious production environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Microbiology or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in Laboratory, Brewing or Packaging operation.
• ISO22000 or FSSC Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance and Quality Control in a brewery environment.
• Champion VPO and contribute to plant optimisation to deliver KPIs.
• Lead internal food safety audits and ensure non-conformance closure.
• Maintain site food safety management system and records integrity.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated and compliant with safety standards.
• Communicate findings and drive corrective actions with production teams.
