The Role

The Midweight Strategist will report to the Chief Strategy Officer of Leagas Delaney, South Africa. Work will be conducted primarily in person, in office 4 days a week with flexibility to work online for a day in the week. The candidate will be required to demonstrate a grasp of various work-related skills; with digital know-how as a bonus.

Their proficiency should be utilised to demonstrate a fair understanding and insight into clients' business, customers, competitors and the broader category in a way that reaches their objectives. Having a point of view on what will put Leagas Delaney's input ahead of the curve while consistently bringing a fresh perspective to the table will go a long way. Basically, we value a team member who will be visible, audible and contribute to the dynamic perspective we strive for.

The candidate should be able to present strategic thinking with clarity, leading the conversation both internally and with clients, as well as being a great collaborator with the CSO and the team at large. Finally, they should be proactive in getting the right support to deliver optimally, inviting the team to plug in for the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive cross-channel brand and creative strategies that meet or exceed objectives in a cost-effective manner.
  2. Collaborate within the largely brand strategy and conceptual creative team to develop compelling and innovative solutions that align with clients' brand guidelines and objectives.
  3. Analyse and interpret customer, user, market and marketing data to provide insights and recommendations on messaging, dissemination and creative for maximum performance.
  4. Participate and engage with clients and internal team in stand-ups, kickstarts, brainstorms, reviews and workshops to contribute to the success and delivery of projects.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest digital tools, interactive trends, technologies and best practices.
  6. Drive value for the organization.

Qualifications

Must have minimum 5+ years brand strategy experience.
