Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Media and Communications Specialist to join our Randburg, Gauteng team. You will develop and implement effective communication strategies to enhance the company’s public profile and support business objectives, with a focus on media relations, engaging content, and consistent messaging.

The role requires strong writing, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to communication challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, PR, journalism or marketing.
• Experience in media relations or communications preferred.
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute media relations strategies to secure positive coverage and build brand awareness.
• Draft press releases, media advisories, social media posts, and other communication materials.
• Manage day-to-day media inquiries and coordinate interviews with company spokespeople.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends to provide insights to the team.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure aligned messaging.
• Assist in planning and executing communication campaigns and events.
• Maintain media contact databases and relationships.
• Ensure all communications adhere to brand standards and policies.
• Support development and implementation of crisis communication plans.
• Contribute to internal communications when needed.
