Our client in the wine industry is looking for a Brand Manager.
The primary purpose of this position is to execute and maintain marketing strategies and initiatives that promote our winery, enhance our brand image, and drive sales.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum requirements:
- At least a tertiary marketing qualification
- 35 years experience in a similar position
- Love for and knowledge of the wine industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Technically minded with attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent organisational, administrative, financial, and management skills
Responsibilities:
- Implement strategic marketing plans to increase brand awareness
- Support in driving sales through various channels, working closely with the commercial team
- Oversee tasting room operations, including enhancing customer experience, staff supervision, inventory management, and event coordination
- Plan and participate in wine festivals, trade shows, and industry events to promote our brand and engage with potential customers, creating a unique engagement between the customer and brand with each interaction
- Develop partnerships with local organisations, event managers, and businesses
- Develop and maintain relationships with distribution and third-party partners to drive sales and brand growth
- Create and quality check marketing materials such as product descriptions, tasting notes, videos, and pictures
- Ensure all company platforms are up-to-date with the latest information
- Identify and implement opportunities in digital marketing and online sales, including social media campaigns, email marketing, and website updates
- Coordinate with creative agencies, designers, and external partners regarding Point of Sale materials
- Monitor, analyze, and report on brand performance, competitor promotions, trending brands, and consumption patterns to senior management
- Assist with new product development as required
- Perform administrative functions as needed
