Role Overview
The Brand and Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, reputation, and business growth for Interwaste, a leading waste management company and subsidiary of Seche, a global organisation. Key responsibilities include managing brand identity, media relations, graphic design, brand awareness campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to effectively promote the brand and achieve business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Management
- Develop and maintain the Interwaste brand identity: Ensure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints, aligning with Seche’s global brand guidelines.
- Manage brand guidelines and standards: Ensure all marketing materials and communications adhere to the brand's visual identity, tone, and messaging.
- Monitor brand reputation: Track and analyse brand mentions, sentiment, and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Marketing Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute marketing strategies: Drive business growth, increase brand awareness, and enhance reputation through targeted marketing initiatives.
- Conduct market research and analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform marketing decisions.
- Create and manage marketing plans and budgets: Ensure effective allocation of resources and ROI measurement.
Media Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with media representatives: Secure media coverage and product placements that positively impact the brand's reputation.
- Craft and distribute press releases and media kits: Effectively communicate key messages and brand news to target audiences.
- Manage media inquiries and interviews: Ensure timely and effective responses to media requests.
Graphic Design and Visual Content
- Develop high-quality visual content: Support marketing initiatives through graphic design, photography, and videography that aligns with the brand's visual identity.
- Manage design projects and timelines: Ensure timely delivery of high-quality design assets.
- Collaborate with designers and vendors: Ensure design work meets brand standards and expectations.
Brand Awareness and Communications
- Develop and execute brand awareness campaigns: Increase brand visibility and reputation through targeted marketing initiatives.
- Create engaging content: Support brand awareness and thought leadership through blog posts, social media, and other marketing channels.
- Manage internal communications: Ensure employees are informed and engaged with brand news and initiatives.
Digital Marketing
- Develop and execute digital marketing strategies: Drive website traffic, engagement, and conversions through targeted digital marketing initiatives.
- Manage digital marketing channels: Ensure effective use of email, social media, and other digital channels to support marketing objectives.
- Analyse digital marketing metrics: Track and analyse website traffic, engagement, and conversion rates to inform marketing decisions.
Performance Measurement and Analysis
- Track and analyse marketing metrics: Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and inform future marketing decisions.
- Conduct market research and gather feedback: Stay up to date with customer needs and preferences to inform marketing strategies.
- Provide regular reporting and insights: Stakeholders on marketing performance and ROI.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Drive the Company’s’ Zero Harm policy within your area of operations.
- Compliance with all health & safety requirements in line with the company's OHS policies & procedures.
- Work within the ISO frameworks and other required by Clients.
- Ensure all SHEQ policies and requirements are upheld and met.
- Ensure SHEQ site file is implemented and maintained
COMMUNICATION AND FEEDBACK
- Ensure all your superiors are notified in a timely manner regarding aspects of your areas as deemed necessary by them.
- Deal with personnel matters such as reporting incidents, customer complaints, requesting new employees, extension of contracts and terminations to your manager,
- Ensure your manager is informed off all staff related matters that will affect the organisation in a dire manner immediately (e.g. IR).
MENTORSHIP AND SKILLS TRANSFERENCE
- Ensure all subordinates and colleagues are up-skilled and ensure transference of skills through mentorship and coaching,
- Provide training and guidance for new employees and ensure they are assisted.
ADHOC
- Any other reasonable adhoc duty as required or requested by management.
- It should be noted that individuals may need to expand their roles / scope to cover the work load of other employees in times of high work loads or individuals whom may be absent from work. This is the sole discretion of management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field: A strong understanding of marketing principles and practices.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing or a related field: Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication and project management skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse data and inform marketing decisions.
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools: Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field: Advanced knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
- Experience working in the waste management industry: Understanding of industry trends, challenges, and regulations.
- Certification in marketing or a related field: Demonstrated expertise and commitment to professional development.
