Job description

SA Metal Group conducts expert waste and scrap metal management services for a large manufacturing entity in the region. This role is primarily aimed at facilitating this function by managing and leading the entire branch in terms of, but not limited to;

  • Daily operations, planning and managing of the branch.
  • Leading and managing a team in order to achieve operational requirements
  • Ensuring Company policies and procedures and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure that staff members are trained on and strictly adhere to the Second Hand Goods Act
  • Maintaining excellent customer relations
  • Ensure that materials are accurately classified and graded at all times as per the set commodities list as per company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that commodities are weight correctly at all times

Qualifying experience :

  • Own reliable transport
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Supervisory / Managerial Experience
  • 3 years’ experience in production environment in a managerial capacity.
  • Experience in discipline and IR
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Knowledge of processing ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as quality standards
  • Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good knowledge of the second hand goods act
