Overview

Job title : Branch Controller

Job Location : Eastern Cape, Queenstown

Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Must be able and willing to work shifts.
  • Ensure that all dispatches are correctly scanned out of the hub.
  • Ensure that all dispatches are visually inspected for defects.
  • Ensure that all outbound vehicles are loaded and released timeously.
  • Ensure that dispatch documentation is checked, signed and copies distributed and filed accordingly.
  • Ensure that all receipts are correctly scanned into the hub.
  • Ensure that all receipts are visually inspected for defects.
  • Ensure that all inbound vehicles are off-loaded and released timeously.
  • Ensure that receiving documentation is checked, signed and copies distributed and filed accordingly.
  • Ensure that all staff comply with SOPs.
  • Address all deviations.
  • Complete and report on all KPI measures and provide reasons for deviations.
  • Ensure that all equipment under your control is used correctly and stowed away safely.
  • Capture and calculate overtime accurately and ensure submission deadlines are met without error.
  • Ensure that the attendance register / biometric data is accurate and to resolve any queries.
  • Assist staff with administrative and operational requests.
  • Manage PPE and stationery requirements effectively.
  • Ensure that all staff are using the correct PPE for the task being performed.
  • Ensure that operational areas are kept clean.
  • Ensure that products are stowed correctly, safely and neatly.
  • Ensure that all returns are processed correctly and staged for outbound.

Cost Management

  • Control of expenditure and flexing of costs in line with volume fluctuations.
  • Manage daily staff and overtime efficiently to ensure labour costs are controlled.
  • Ensure that all procurement is done in a controlled and managed way.
  • Ensure that resource productivity is measured and reported to eliminate waste.

Reporting & Admin

  • All administrative documentation is labelled and filed as per procedures.
  • All daily, weekly and monthly reports / meeting minutes are up to date.
  • KPI reports sent out timeously on a daily basis and are posted on notice boards.
  • Extracts data and generates reports which will assist in performance tracking and decision making.

People Management

  • Ensure that all staff are at work and attendance is 100%.
  • Train and supervise employees to carry out the functions under their control.
  • All overtime and acting allowance must be approved before work is done.
  • Measure and manage staff through formal staff appraisals, development, coaching and disciplinary procedures.
  • Assert and drive accountability in all levels of staff.
  • Supervising resources to be effective and efficient at lowest cost and according to changing needs.

SHE, Risk, Quality & 5S Duties

  • Ensure 5S standards are maintained.
  • Conduct daily and weekly 5S audits.
  • Identify, correct deviations.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and issues reported timeously.
  • Assist in ensuring the facility complies to COVID-19 protocols.
  • Align with the Quality Management System and help to continually improve processes.
Qualifications and experience
  • Minimum of Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
