Who are we?

Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is a leading financial services provider in South Africa, focusing on the entry-level and emerging middle market. We aim to understand our clients' unique needs and offer simple, affordable financial solutions such as funeral insurance, education savings, life cover, and personal accident plans. SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, part of the Sanlam Life and Savings group, focusing on retail products and group schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
  2. Understand customer needs, financial goals, and means to recommend suitable products.
  3. Update customers on new products or changes and manage their implications.
  4. Validate client details per product and regulatory requirements; submit new business through proper channels.
  5. Conduct client due diligence to identify risks.
  6. Manage own capacity to prioritize appointments and handle walk-in clients.
In-branch Client Service and Retention
  1. Service and manage client profiles to ensure retention, including sending reminders, follow-ups, and addressing queries.
  2. Manage NTUs by implementing controls and corrective actions.
  3. Maintain persistency of client payments.
  4. Assess client risk profiles to provide support and alternative payment options.
  5. Provide in-branch service aligned with experience standards, including handling cancellations and escalations.
Quality, Compliance, and Development
  1. Adhere to compliance and quality standards.
  2. Maintain registration, product knowledge, and CPD points.
  3. Identify risks and fraudulent activities.
  4. Keep records of advice and activities for reporting.
Monthly Planning and Reporting
  1. Report activities daily using relevant platforms.
  2. Compile data for weekly and monthly reports.
  3. Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • RE5 advantageous
  • FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
  • Class of Business training (to be completed within 12 months)
