Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor - Kwa Mashu

SDM aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions covering needs such as funeral insurance, education savings, life cover, and personal accident plans. SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group, focusing on retail products and group schemes.

  • To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share by:
  • Providing sound financial advice and excellent client service in a branch setting.
  • Creating opportunities for client optimization and cross-selling of value-added services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a thorough understanding of SRM product ranges.
  • Assess customer needs, financial goals, and means, and recommend suitable products that meet their goals affordably.
  • Keep clients informed about new products or changes to existing ones, and manage their portfolios accordingly.
  • Validate client details according to product and regulatory requirements and submit new business through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct client due diligence to identify and flag risks.
  • Manage daily appointments effectively, balancing scheduled and walk-in clients.

2. In-branch client service and retention

  • Service and manage client profiles to ensure retention.
  • Send reminders, follow up, and address client queries.
  • Report on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up), implement controls, and take corrective actions.
  • Maintain client payment persistency and manage risk profiles proactively.
  • Assist clients with payment arrangements and ensure proper processing and documentation.
  • Handle policy cancellations, provide alternatives, and resolve client queries, escalating when necessary.

3. Quality, compliance, and development

  • Stay updated on compliance and quality standards.
  • Maintain registration, product knowledge, and CPD points.
  • Identify risks and potential fraud.
  • Keep records of advice and activities as per regulations.

4. Planning and reporting

  • Report daily activities using relevant platforms.
  • Compile data for weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the Branch Manager.

  • RE5 advantageous
  • FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements.
  • Class of Business training (to be completed within 12 months of employment)
