Purpose of the Role

To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share through:

  • Providing sound financial advice and a high level of client service in a Branch context.
  • Creating opportunities for client optimisation and cross-selling of value-added services.

Key Responsibilities

Sales delivery

  • Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
  • Understand customer needs, financial goals, and means, and provide suitable products that meet their goals affordably.
  • Update and inform customers about new or changed products, managing the implications on their portfolios.
  • Validate client details per product and regulatory requirements; submit new business through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify and flag risks.
  • Prioritize daily appointments while accommodating walk-in clients.

In-branch client service and retention

  • Manage all client profiles to ensure retention.
  • Send reminders, follow up, and support clients as needed.
  • Report on NTUs and implement controls and corrective actions.
  • Maintain persistency of client payments.
  • Assess client risk profiles for proactive support.
  • Consult on alternative payment arrangements and ensure proper processing.

Client experience standards

  • Guide clients through policy cancellations and offer alternatives.
  • Resolve client queries or escalate as necessary, providing feedback.

Quality, compliance, and development

  • Adhere to compliance and quality standards.
  • Maintain registration, product knowledge, and CPD points.
  • Identify risks and flag fraud.
  • Keep records of advice and activities for reporting.

Planning and reporting

  • Report activities daily using relevant platforms.
  • Compile data for weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • RE5 advantageous
  • FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management)
  • Class of Business training within 12 months of employment
  • Experience in sales, retail, or business development
