Job summary

FirstRand Group’s POP branch seeks a Branch Advisor to deliver compliant, professional financial guidance in a high-volume setting. You will build lasting client relationships, educate customers on banking channels, and ensure adherence to FAIS, FICA and TCF while driving service and sales outcomes.

You’ll work in a dynamic team, handling enquiries, managing data, and maintaining records with a focus on ethical advice and personal development within a local market.

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 5 Certificate in Banking, Business Administration, Customer Service, or FAIS-recognised field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in customer-facing environments within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of FAIS, TCF and client-centric advice principles.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage long-term client relationships to support retention and growth.
  • Provide a positive customer experience by being helpful and responsive to transactional needs.
  • Educate customers to the correct Banking platform aligned with their needs.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by delivering excellent service and adhering to our promise “how can we help you?”.
  • Analyze customer data to provide appropriate financial advice in line with client goals.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Meet individual and branch sales and service targets.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and compliance.
  • Take accountability for personal and career development.
  • Show empathy and active listening in customer interactions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge.
  • Manage leads, referrals and follow-ups within agreed turnaround times.

As a Branch Advisor , you will be responsible for providing compliant, professional financial advice and to walk in and existing clients within a high-volume service branch environment. The role focuses on understanding client financial needs, offering appropriate product solutions, and ensuring ongoing client relationship management in line with FAIS, FICA legislation and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and FNB governance.

Qualification & Experience Requirement
  • minimum Qualification: NQF Level 5 Certificate in Banking, Business Administration, Customer Service, or related fields recognized by FAIS
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer ‑ facing environments, service delivery, or client support within financial services
