Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings, founded in 1961, has a job opportunity for a Project Manager. This position will be based in Durban and reports directly to the Divisional Manager: Projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the preparation of relevant proposals, negotiation, and marketing processes as required;
• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering project teams on various appointments within the Sugar & Industrial sectors, primarily in FMCG and process plant sectors;
• Provide technical and management expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from inception, through feasibility, into construction and commissioning;
• Fulfill a lead engineering role on complex industrial projects, including on-site tasks when necessary;
• Manage and maintain client relationships, ensuring project execution within scope, timeframe, safety, cost, and client satisfaction;
• Manage subcontractors and site staff effectively;
• Participate in engineering activities and interdisciplinary interfaces in collaboration with other discipline engineers;
• Ensure all Sugar & Industrial projects adhere to the Quality Management System.

The ideal candidate should:

• Have a BTech / BEng degree in mechanical engineering or a similar qualification;
• Be registered as a SACPMP / PMP Project Manager;
• Have 10-15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the consulting engineering sector, with specific experience in sugar and/or heavy industrial industries;
• Possess a detailed understanding of engineering activities related to consulting, engineering services, EPCM, and EPC contracts;
• Have a broad understanding of, and experience working with, other design engineering disciplines such as Process, Civil/Structural, Instrumentation, and Electrical;
• Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills for project teams;
• Be competent in managing all commercial and financial aspects of projects, including terms of appointment, fees, invoicing/forecasting, project profitability, and debtor control;
• Have experience in preparing and submitting tenders and proposals to secure consulting engineering work;
• Be skilled in networking with potential clients and business partners to secure work.
