Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in , has a job opportunity for an Electrical Engineer / Technologist.

This position will be based in Durban and will report directly to the Divisional Manager : Electrical and Instrumentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Development and management of electrical project-specific documentation such as enquiries, tenders, and contracts
2. Ensuring technical requirements defined in the contract are properly incorporated into the engineering deliverables
3. Overseeing and supervising the installation of industrial power systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
4. Designing site-specific equipment as required
5. Ensuring that the design and maintenance of industrial power systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements
6. Managing and forecasting spend, using whole life cycle costing techniques, ensuring that work is kept within budget
7. Monitoring the execution of the electrical aspects of the quality assurance program for conformance to project requirements
8. Assisting with and managing commissioning coordination, activities, and start-up
9. Developing, maintaining, and enhancing engineering tools, calculations, or software used in the company's engineering activities
10. Participating in engineering activities and interdisciplinary interfaces in close cooperation with other discipline engineers

The ideal candidate should :

• Hold a B.Sc. or B.Eng. (Electrical, heavy current) / B.Tech (Electrical, heavy current) or international equivalent
• Be registered as a professional engineer or technologist with ECSA
• Have a minimum of 10 years engineering experience in heavy industry, power generation, and power system engineering (HV and MV)
• Have experience within a consultancy, engineering services company, or in an operating company with project engineering or technical support duties
• Possess effective computer skills using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and specialist engineering software such as CAD, DigSilent Powerfactory, etc.
• Have excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Have effective interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork
• Be prepared to travel within and outside RSA borders
• Hold a valid driver's license
