Qualifications

Job Title: Bookkeeper (Remote | Full-Time)

We are a fast-growing, venture-backed startup seeking a skilled and hands-on Bookkeeper to lead our accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and scale systems to support our rapid growth. This role requires deep expertise in inventory accounting, strong command of QuickBooks and Fishbowl, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly close processes, audits, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain accurate general ledger, account reconciliations, and cash flow tracking
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, and fixed asset accounting
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Supervise and support a small team of 13 bookkeepers/data entry staff
  • Partner with leadership on KPI tracking and building reliable financial dashboards
  • Play a key role in integrating financial operations during M&A activities


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of accounting management experience, ideally within a startup
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, costing methods, and COGS
  • Expert in QuickBooks Online and familiar with QuickBooks Desktop
  • Proficient in Fishbowl Inventory or similar inventory accounting software
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Comfortable using multiple tools and systems (Slack, Google Drive, email, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Tech-savvy self-starter who takes initiative and drives solutions
  • Experience with system integrations and financial dashboards (e.g., Reach Reporting)


Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with Shopify, Wix, SquareUp, and Paylocity
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax reporting
