Job description

Bookkeeper (Packaging) required in Pretorius Park, Pretoria East.

An established manufacturing company specialising in polystyrene foam trays and plastic products is looking for a detail-driven and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team.

This office-based role within a busy factory environment requires a candidate with a solid understanding of full bookkeeping functions and the proven ability to independently take accounts to trial balance.

The successful individual will be proficient in Sage Pastel Manufacturing and capable of managing both creditors and debtors in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive and organised professional who works accurately under pressure and is confident managing daily financial operations in a manufacturing context

Salary: R30 000 – R35 000 CTC per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
  • Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping / Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years’ full-function bookkeeping experience
  • Experienced in full function Bookkeeping up to and including trial balance
  • Proficient in Sage Pastel (Manufacturing module essential)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform full bookkeeping function independently up to trial balance
  • Manage Accounts Payable (Creditors) and Accounts Receivable (Debtors)
  • Process and reconcile daily financial transactions
  • Reconcile supplier statements and remittances
  • Follow up on outstanding customer payments and maintain debtor records
  • Create and issue customer invoices
  • Prepare and submit VAT and EMP201 returns
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Capture and reconcile import and stock transactions
  • Conduct supplier account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Match incoming payments to relevant sales invoices
  • Maintain internal financial controls, especially related to stock and costing
