Job summary

A well-established audit and accountancy firm in Stellenbosch is searching for a Bookkeeper. This role involves managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial reports, and supervising SAIPA staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

Job description

Bookkeeper position currently available in Stellenbosch.

Our client, a well-established audit and accountancy firm, in Stellenbosch, is looking for a Bookkeeper to start as soon as possible at their firm.

MUST have Xero, Pastel or QuickBooks experience to apply.

Salary: R20 000 – R23 000 (depending on qualifications and experience).

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Certification in Accounting or Finance
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (Xero, Pastel, QuickBooks)
  • Strong understanding of Bookkeeping and Accounting Principles
  • Must be willing to work overtime to meet client deadlines
  • Driver’s license and own transport.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks (AP/AR, general ledger)
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain organized financial files and records
  • Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients on Pastel and Xero
  • Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT of SAIPA Trainees
  • Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis and provide training for SAIPA Trainees to reconcile Debtors and Creditors
  • Responsible for calculating VAT and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis
  • Preparation and Review of management accounts.
  • Manage and supervise SAIPA staff to achieve set goals
  • Provide daily assistance, guidance and training with regards to bookkeeping, related taxes and SARS submissions to SAIPA Trainees
  • Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements
  • Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable
  • Implementation / evaluation of internal controls.
  • Client interaction and relations.
