Job summary

A recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their Port Elizabeth team. The ideal candidate will manage bookkeeping up to Trial Balance for multiple entities, process invoices, and prepare monthly management accounts. Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in an accounting firm, proficiency in accounting software, and essential Pastel experience.

• Pastel experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping up to Trial Balance for at least 8 entities.
• Processing invoices
• Processing point-of-sale month end reports
• Processing cashbooks and bank reconciliations
• Processing salary journals
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Payment of accounts
• Complete credit applications
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Full debtors function
• Monitor and follow up of stock count variances
• Reconciliation of VAT
• Prepare statutory returns
• Prepare VAT reconciliations

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Finance preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience, preferably gained in an Accounting Firm
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office
• Pastel experience essential
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
