Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric certificate (minimum requirement).
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Office Administration, Agriculture, or Business Management is a strong advantage.
- At least 2–5 years’ experience in an administrative role, ideally in the agricultural sector.
- Experience with farm compliance, payroll, and procurement is highly beneficial.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel; experience with Pastel, QuickBooks, or other farm/accounting software).
- Organised and detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping abilities.
- Comfortable managing invoices, stock control, orders, and data capturing.
- Able to schedule logistics, track expenses, and assist with budget reporting.
- Experience with agricultural compliance (e.g., health & safety, labour law, audit prep).
- Able to communicate clearly in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information (e.g., wages, contracts).
- Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, practical farming environment.
Personal Characteristics:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- A “hands-on” attitude—willing to walk the fields if needed to get accurate info.
- Preferably from a rural or semi-rural background and understands farming rhythms.
