Bookkeeper

Job Description
A renowned and dynamic restaurant franchise is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive on-site Bookkeeper to join their fast-paced accounting department for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You'll play a key role in handling financial records, processing transactions, reconciliations, reports, and providing support to other members of the accounting team.

Key responsibilities:

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Transaction Processing: Process sales, expenses, journals, and other financial documents in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reconciliation: Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Reporting: Prepare reconciliations and financial reports, summaries, and other documents as required by management.
• Support: Provide support to the accounting team by performing administrative tasks.
• Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries or issues.
• Assistance: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned.
• Assurance: Assist with internal and external audits.

• Qualification in Accounting or Finance would be preferred.
• 4+ years' experience in a Bookkeeper or similar function.
• Proficiency in Accounting software (in particular Sage Evolution and Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling financial data.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• 6-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become a permanent contract with additional benefits, dependent on performance.
