Job description

The Company

Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key mining client, are working together to source an experienced and qualified Bookkeeper for their team in South Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable & account receivable transactions.
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations and financial reports, summaries and other documents as required by management.
  • Prepare a payment schedule on a weekly / monthly basis.
  • Process & load payments on the banking system.
  • Prepare monthly payroll and related statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, UIF, SDL).
  • Process employee benefits and deductions, including pension/provident fund contributions and medical aid.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT and other relevant tax regulations
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries or issues.
  • Compliance to the requirements of IFRS, Companies Act & industry laws & regulations.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Assist with audit preparation and liaise with auditors when required
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records
  • Adhere to internal controls and company policies

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (mining or industrial sector experience advantageous)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems
  • Solid knowledge of South African tax laws and financial regulations
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
