Job description

  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders.
  • Maintain an accurate general ledger.
  • Perform bank, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
  • Process employee wages and liaise with payroll department.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports.
  • Reconcile inter-company transactions and assist with audits.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding outstanding payments, queries, and accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Finance or Accounting.
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience (preferably in construction, logistics, or engineering industries).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legislation.
  • Proficiency in Sage Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Own transport and valid drivers license (preferred, not essential).

Working Conditions

  • Based at the Johannesburg office, Monday to Friday.
  • May occasionally be required to liaise with other branches or support year-end audits.
  • Collaborative and supportive finance and operations team.
