- Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.
- Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders.
- Maintain an accurate general ledger.
- Perform bank, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Process employee wages and liaise with payroll department.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and assist with audits.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding outstanding payments, queries, and accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Finance or Accounting.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience (preferably in construction, logistics, or engineering industries).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and legislation.
- Proficiency in Sage Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Own transport and valid drivers license (preferred, not essential).
Working Conditions
- Based at the Johannesburg office, Monday to Friday.
- May occasionally be required to liaise with other branches or support year-end audits.
