Bookkeeper position currently available in Hout Bay, Cape Town.

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join their dynamic hospitality group.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the finance team with monthly reconciliations and reporting.

This role is integral to ensuring financial accuracy across multiple hospitality properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, journals, and bank statements
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Prepare VAT submissions and ensure SARS compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Provide financial reports to management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the hospitality sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Pastel, or similar)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Relevant qualification or diploma in accounting/bookkeeping
