Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the Port Elizabeth team,
• Bookkeeping to trial balance
• Maintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions (cashbooks, journals, and ledgers).
• Process supplier and customer invoices and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations.
• Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with SARS regulations.
• Assist with payroll preparation and related statutory submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Process cashbook
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Capture and maintain records on accounting software
• Support external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Manage petty cash and perform ad hoc financial tasks as required.
Requirements
• Grade 12
• Finance qualification preferred
• 3+ years of proven bookkeeping experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Pastel Accounting and MS Office
• Experience with foreign debtors and creditors
