A trendy and upmarket independent retail business is looking to hire a qualified Bookkeeper to join their team.

You'll report to the Group Financial Manager and be responsible for the full retail bookkeeping function of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Budgeting
• Accounts processing
• Forecasting
• Inventory
• Debtors
• Creditors
• Cash-ups
• VAT
• Cashbook processing
• Journal entries
• Balancing

Suitable applicants will be able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• Completed Accounting qualification
• Proficient in Pastel Accounting software
• Excellent skills in MS Excel
• 5 years' accounting experience from a retail environment (non-negotiable)
• Knowledge of POS (Point-of-Sale Systems) and advantage
• Understanding of low value / high volume transactions
• Willingness and ability to work on site, in Parktown North and sometimes in Hyde Park
• Preference for candidates who are available immediately
