Job description

Founded in , Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman ("GRF") is a leading full-service business management firm for an exclusive assortment of entertainers, executives and select high net worth individuals.

Our 30 partners and over staff members deliver comprehensive financial services in the fields of music, motion pictures, television, sports, literature, and other creative and performing arts.

Our firm has offices in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville, San Rafael, Wilmington, and London.

We are seeking a Full-Charge Bookkeeper with ideally entertainment / touring experience to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Location : This position can be based out of Encino (CA) or Century City (CA) on a hybrid basis.

Overview of Role : The Bookkeeper is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of assigned clients are accurate.

Responsibilities
  1. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  2. Perform credit card and bank reconciliations
  3. Maintain electronic filing system
  4. General communication with vendors, clients, and client representatives via phone, email, and in-person
  5. Perform cash flow reports and cash balances as required
  6. Assist in assembling information for year-end tax packages for accountants
  7. Provide some assistance on insurance questions
  8. Identify, trace, and correct errors
  9. Prepare / review reports
  10. Prepare journal entries
  11. Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, as well as applicable reporting
  12. Print reports (such as financial statements) for review
  13. Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
  1. 1+ years of bookkeeping experience in an entertainment business management firm or 2+ years of general accounting experience
  2. High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; Associate's degree is preferred
  3. Excellent communication skills (in person, on the phone, and via email)
  4. Sense of urgency
  5. Keen eye for details
  6. Ability to quickly shift gears without losing focus
  7. Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.)

Experience with DataFaction and AgilLink software is highly preferred. Candidate information, including education and work experience, is verified upon an offer of employment.

This is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position.

Employee compensation is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, employee education / training / credentials, employee work experience, work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal peer equity, and market considerations.

The expected base compensation hiring range for this position is as follows :

Bookkeeper : $51, to $57, per year.
