Job Description

This leading restaurant reservation platform is looking to find their next team player.

The opportunity to be part of a tech-led, professional and polished business working closely with the Senior Bookkeeper and CEO exists for a well-experienced Bookkeeper.

You will report directly to the Senior Bookkeeper and have frequent feedback sessions. You will be given the opportunity to support the financial administration of the organisation, which includes working closely with the finance team as well as other departments.

You will be expected to have excellent attention to detail, be self-motivated and process-driven with a high level of efficiency. This role requires you to manage all financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records, as well as the debtors function. Amongst other things, you will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping requirements including maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions, preparing and processing invoices, payments, statements, managing onboarding of client financial details, and maintaining an up-to-date debtors book.

You will have the opportunity to learn and be stretched week-to-week. Your day-to-day includes managing a large volume of daily deposits and pre-payments on behalf of clients, overseeing the daily reconciliation and settlement of these payments.

Responsibilities
  1. Bank reconciliations, invoices, expense management and reconciliation, debit order management
  2. Management of several complex transactions at any given time
  3. Debtors and creditors function
  4. Email management for the accounting/finance function of the business
  5. Management of any charge/bank disputes
  6. Onboarding new clients
  7. Depend on and collaborate with sales, client, and support teams
  8. Debit order mandate management
Areas of Growth / Advantageous
  1. Tax knowledge & business processing
  2. Annual reviews and Management reports
  3. SME experience ideal
Requirements
  1. Preferably a completed BCom degree or a Senior certificate or Diploma in Business or Accounting
  2. 5 years' plus experience in a bookkeeping function
  3. Business exposure outside of the accounting function
  4. Experience in hospitality or restaurant industry is preferred
  5. Interest in business process and optimisation
  6. Experience with cloud accounting software, ideally Xero
  7. Knowledge of online banking environments
  8. Previous working experience in Hubspot
  9. Experience in maintaining debtors (payments, information, invoice/package details)
  10. Ability to grasp electronic platforms quickly, payment gateways, and management of SMS credits
  11. Ability to fully manage a broad role across all things finance
