Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a valued client in the healthcare sector, seeking a diligent and experienced Bookkeeper to support their financial operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records, contributing directly to the smooth running of the clinics and overall financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  1. Process all income, expense, asset, and liability journals to ensure accurate financial records.
  2. Process and maintain cashbooks.
  3. Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  4. Reconcile intercompany loan accounts.
  5. Prepare and post depreciation, standard, and payroll journals.
  6. Prepare monthly accruals where required.
  7. Update and maintain the fixed asset register.
  8. Check and verify bank reconciliations.
  9. Review trial balances for accurate allocations.
  10. Reconcile turnover figures with clinic manager reports.
  11. Prepare and submit VAT201 and ensure VAT is paid on time.
  12. Ensure VAT receipts are filed and discrepancies followed up.
  13. Prepare and submit EMP201 and ensure PAYE is paid on time.
Requirements:
  1. Matric.
  2. Accounting/Bookkeeping Diploma.
  3. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial role.
  4. General accounting knowledge and financial skills.
  5. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Numerate, accurate, methodical, customer centric and attention to detail.
  7. Computer literacy is essential, especially MS Word and Excel.
  8. Experience in working on Pastel Evolution will be advantageous.
Desired Skills:
  1. Pastel and Microsoft Excel.
  2. Knowledge of VAT and PAYE processes.
  3. Attention to detail and time management skills.
