About the Role

They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a highly organised professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and a passion for financial accuracy. As part of a fast-paced business, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial records, supporting compliance, and driving improvements in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Records● Maintain accurate and compliant financial records● Process and reconcile bank transactions, AP and AR● Handle day-to-day tasks including invoicing, payments, and expense tracking

Month-End and Year-End Processes● Support preparation of monthly management accounts (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)● Reconcile accounts and assist with closing processes

Payroll & VAT Compliance● Process payroll, including accurate salary and benefit recording● Prepare and submit VAT returns● Maintain tax compliance and support filings

Financial Reporting & Analysis● Generate reports to support business insights● Assist with budgeting and forecasting● Prepare financial data for senior management and external stakeholders

Software & Process Management● Use Xero and other tools to manage and improve financial workflows● Identify automation opportunities and promote best practice in financial operations

Requirements

● Minimum 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, ideally within a scale-up or high-growth company● Proficient in Xero (essential); experience with other tools is advantageous● Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills● Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines● Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement● Effective collaborator with solid communication and teamwork skills
