Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant boilermaker experience required.
• Specialized equipment experience working on KMC machinery desired.
• Completed gas safety training or equivalent essential.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural work including spade sections and miner components.
• Perform thermal applications including arc welding and gas cutting.
• Regular inspection and operation of machines.

Skills

Proficiency in using cutting torch

Understanding of safety protocols

Ability to read technical drawings

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent

Trade Test Qualification – Red Seal: Boilermaker

Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

• Interpret drawings sketches and Developments;
• Be able to fabricate structural work, Spade section, Shuttle cars, Boom and conveyor, Continuous miners;
• Use portable hand and power tools;
• Thermal applications and perform arc welding;
• Gas cutting and heating;
• Oxygen fuel gas welding and brazing (Final Ass);
• Regular inspection of machinery;
• Operate Machines.

Minimum Skills Required

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Trade Test Qualification – Red Seal: Boilermaker;
• 3–5 years of relevant boilermaker experience;
• Specialized Equipment Experience: Hands-on experience working on KMC machinery;
• Torch Proficiency: Must be fully competent in using a cutting torch;
• Overhead Crane Training: Formal training and competency in operating overhead cranes;
• Safety Training: Completed Introduction to Gas Safety course or equivalent.

Additional Attributes:

• Strong understanding of safety protocols and fabrication standards;
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans;
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team under tight schedules;
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.
