Job summary

Placements24 is seeking eager individuals to join as Junior Artisan Apprentices (Boilermaker) in Richards Bay. You will learn fabrication, welding, and structural metal work under experienced boilermakers on large industrial projects.

This apprenticeship offers comprehensive training, mentorship, a monthly stipend, and a path to a recognized trade qualification. Ideal candidates have Matric (Technical Drawing preferred), good manual dexterity, teamwork, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Matric with Technical Drawing preferred or related subjects.
• Strong interest in a trade and willingness to learn boilermaking.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work accurately and pay close attention to detail.
• Team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.
• Commitment to safety procedures in the Richards Bay environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components.
• Learn and practice welding techniques (ARC, MIG, TIG) under supervision.
• Operate workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Perform grinding, cutting, and shaping of metal parts.
• Adhere to strict health and safety standards on all work sites.
