Job description

The boilermaker is responsible for shaping, assembling, and fitting metal parts and components to build and reinforce vehicles according to technical specifications and quality standards for vehicles manufactured at the company.

Requirements :

  • Must have a Boilermaker Trade Test
  • Minimum 35 years' post-trade experience working as a Boilermaker
  • Experience working with armored vehicles will be an added bonus
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety practices
  • Must be willing to work from 7am to 17 : 00 Monday to Friday
  • Valid drivers license

Responsibilities :

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
  • Measure and cut metal materials to required dimensions using various tools and machinery.
  • Shape and form metal parts using techniques such as bending, shearing and rolling.
  • Assemble metal components and structures by welding, bolting or riveting.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure fabricated parts meet specifications and standards, whether internally generated or requested by a customer.
  • Conduct pre-assembly preparations, including cleaning and aligning parts.
  • Operate fabrication machinery, such as presses, brakes, and shears.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical issues and improve designs.
  • Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes and completed work as required by internal Quality Assurance documentation.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inspect and test assembled components for strength and durability.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fabrication techniques and equipment.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of fabrication processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and company quality guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Tend to any reasonable additional requests made by company management from time to time.
