About the job: Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor (External Applications Only)

Description:

The Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor is responsible for monitoring cutting and edging operations, ensuring quality and smooth running of the processes. He/she supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cutting and edging fabric according to customer specifications to minimize losses. The supervisor is also responsible for machinery maintenance.

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
  • 2 years of carpentry experience is advantageous.
  • 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • 1 year of experience working with cutting and edging machinery is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
Key Performance Areas:
  1. Minimize wastage and customer complaints through accurate calibration and reading of cutting lists.
  2. Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
  3. Provide reliable and prompt customer service.
  4. Ensure effective employee scheduling to deliver exceptional service.
  5. Advise and assist customers with product inquiries and complaints.
  6. Maintain a tidy and obstacle-free area; merchandise stock promptly.
  7. Ensure OHSA safety compliance within the area of responsibility.
  8. Adhere to machinery specifications and safety standards.
  9. Report suspicious behaviors or people to management.
  10. Verify proof of purchase before loading products for customers.
